Volunteer Training

Volunteers are required to complete training prior to placement. Our comprehensive training heavily invests in our volunteers, preparing them for the challenges of working with patients, caregivers, and families. Our flexible training schedule includes:

  • Listening skills
  • Grief and loss
  • Medical aspects of end-of-life
  • Psychosocial care
  • Spiritual aspects of care

After training, volunteers shadow staff on their first patient visit, whereupon visits are subsequently scheduled to accommodate volunteer’s schedules.
